Quick Tip:

One of the first steps when dealing with laggy, crash-prone, or generally difficult drawings should be to perform an AUDIT.
The AUDIT command allows AutoCAD to automatically detect and fix drawing errors that can typically cause crashes and general issues within the drawing.

Give the AUDIT command a shot in your drawings and see what it can find!

Feature: How to RECOVER Lost AutoCAD Drawings in Seconds!

This week we are focusing on dealing with and troubleshooting common AutoCAD and design issues.

For many of us, the most common and stressful issue we can run into is having a drawing disappear or become corrupt on us.

Nothing worse than having to tell your PM that we simply can’t find the drawing we need to edit. This only gets worse when we’re on a tight timeline or running low on budget.
If you’ve ever spent hours working on an AutoCAD drawing only to lose it due to a crash or file corruption you know that sinking feeling when things click and you realize a lot of work just went goodbye…

It’s not only a huge setback for the project but if you’re like me and take it as a hit to your pride, it can be a day or even week-ruining event.

Fear not!

In today’s video, I’m going to walk you through multiple options we have to recover lost AutoCAD drawings in just seconds.

Whether you're a student, architect, engineer, or designer, this tutorial is perfect for anyone who uses AutoCAD and wants to avoid losing their work.

We even go through the process and steps of how to set up Autosaves and time intervals just in case you haven’t already!

Troubleshooting Tool:

When it comes to troubleshooting AutoCAD and general design issues, there are few “tools” or resources that can help you and save you more time than your go-to CAD guru, cad manager, or simply a senior designer at the office!

Over my 20+ year career I can’t even count how many times I had seemingly difficult issues solved by simply asking the seasoned coworker or mentor I had at the time. They were always happy to share their experience and past learning and it almost always saved me time and headache for years to come.

So for this weeks Tool, I just wanted to remind all of you, if you don’t have that go-to CAD Guru or CAD Helpdesk person available to you, don’t forget to checkout the CAD Support Forum!

CAD Support is my private discord forum and your very own CAD Helpdesk & CAD-Guru at a fraction of the cost!

Whether you work for a large consulting company or you work for yourself, every CAD user, designer, and engineer runs into CAD and Design issues along the way. By joining CAD Support you have direct access to a forum of similar users as well as myself to help answer your questions, point you in the right direction and help set you up for success and huge time savings!

Career Insight:

As we close out 2024 I want to highlight the importance of being a problem solver in today’s design industry and share some examples, tips, and next-steps to help you along the way.

In the fast-paced work of design and technology, our ability to problem solve and effectively troubleshoot designs, CAD issues, and daily tasks is what will set us apart from our peers and fellow designers.

This becomes even more important around this time of year as performance reviews, raises, and bonuses become a reality.
