Hey All,
TGIF!
Hopefully you’re week hasn’t been as busy and chaotic as mine has… It’s been an interesting one with multiple rush deadlines, last minute requests and the cadintentions.com site getting hacked or corrupted (Don’t worry, I got it back working now)!
But we persevered and are back on track to enjoy a mostly relaxing weekend with just one early kids’ hockey game and one road trip gam,e haha.
I’m excited and blown away by the positive response and views to last weeks newsletter and in particular my “Short story” The Last Human Designer! I teased at the end of the email that I would be testing out one of the First AI Powered modelling software available, and I’m excited to share it with you later on in this email!
I’ve also included a new Design X Technology Short story :)
Lets Jump right in
Quick Tip:
With today’s email being focused on AI and Automation, I wanted to share a perfect quick tip to get you automating and saving time on your AutoCAD drawings. Specifically, automation in your titleblocks and drawing production workflow.
Using tools like FIELDS, Plot Stamps, and Design Center will literally save you hours each week.

And if you’d like to master drawing production, automation, templates, layers, and Xref set up like a pro I highly recommend taking my AutoCAD Fundamentals and Workflows course here!
I Tried AI CAD Software:
About two weeks ago I started a conversation with one of the co-founders of ADAM, an online browser-based 3D modeling software. It’s currently only in Beta and they’re working on building it as we speak, but they were happy to share an access link and I was able to try out this early build of what I can easily see being the future of CAD prototyping and modeling.
The slogan of the software is, Speak anything into existence. I really like their ambition with this and after playing around in the software for a bit I can see their vision for the future.
In this early build, we’re limited to mostly simple single-part models but it is pretty amazing how fast and easy to use this Beta software actually is.
To see it in action and learn more check it out now: I Tried AI CAD Software (ADAM)... Here's What I Learned!

The Architect's Last Decision:
The machine’s cursor hovered over the final column placement. A gentle hum filled the dimly lit office as the AI-driven design software, ARCHON, recalculated wind loads, stress tolerances, and environmental impacts in real time. The last human architect in the firm, Daniel Reeves, watched the model shift seamlessly, optimizing before his eyes. The AI had just solved a series of problems that just last year had taken him three weeks to work through manually.
Daniel leaned back in his chair, staring at the sleek interface. It wasn’t the tech itself that unsettled him—it was how little it needed him now. He’d spent decades mastering his craft, perfecting the balance between function and form, only to see ARCHON do it in seconds. The younger designers no longer even try to understand the underlying principles; they just feed the AI parameters and review its outputs.
Across the room, a junior designer, Alex, looked up from his screen. “ARCHON just finished the final layout. Should I send it off now?”
