How top firms get are staying on top of CAD Technology/AI/Standards (& most small teams aren't)
A path to modernizing your workflows and staying ahead.
Hey All,
For over 10 years now, I’ve been creating CAD tutorials, teaching Standards courses, and helping/consulting freelancers and small firms on their workflows and tech.
And I’ve enjoyed it more than any other “job” or design work I’ve done in the past.
That’s not to say I don’t love working in Civil Design every day but I’ve certainly known for a while that my passion and true talent lies in helping others, explaining & teaching CAD concepts/workflows, and writing about current and future technology.
Over the last year, and particularly in the last few months, I’ve seen an uptick in questions and requests for a specific type of CAD/Design help. And most if not all of the larger Eng/Design firms currently or recently have hired dedicated employees for this specific role (ei. Technology/CAD Manager, Design Manager, Digital Advisor, etc…) I’ve even been offered this role a few times over the last year, but I enjoy my current design job & team, too much to leave.
That being said, one of my life and career goals has always been to grow my blog/channel into a full-time business, and today, on my lunch break, I want to make an initial step, publicly to doing so today.
I am now opening up my time and services to help small firms/consultants in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.. sovle the most common problems facing Design teams in the current technology-focused atmosphere.
(Side Note: If you’ve reached out in the past about 1:1 help but I couldn’t help due to not having availability, now’s the time to touch base!)
Here’s what I’ve been noticing…
A lot of smaller AEC firms (engineering, architecture, interior design, contracting) are doing amazing project work, but struggling to keep up with:
Rapid shifts in software, AI, and cloud tools
Inconsistent CAD standards across projects
Poor organization and minimal Workflows
No Onboarding or Training processes
A growing need for remote/hybrid team systems
A lack of clear digital direction or tech investment strategy
So I’ve decided to build something I wish had existed years ago:
A Remote CAD & Digital Strategy Consultancy.
Think of it like a part-time Design Technology Advisor/CAD Manager, to help you future-proof your workflows and guide your firm through the next 3–5 years of industry change.
If you're leading a small design team or have an AEC Firm, here’s what I’m Helping With:
✅ CAD Standards + Process Modernization
I’ll audit your templates, file structure, and workflows, and help you build clean, efficient systems your whole team can follow. We’ll build out a plan and roadmap for your future!
✅ Digital Tool Stack + AI Guidance
You’ll get clear recommendations on what’s worth using (and what’s not) — from AI tools/Research Agents to cloud platforms to design software upgrades.
✅ Remote/Hybrid Team Enablement
We’ll set up smarter systems for async collaboration, onboarding, training, and file sharing, so your projects stop stalling and you can grow with ease!
✅ Tech Investment & Future-Readiness
If you’re unsure what software or hardware to invest in, or how to prep for the next 3–5 years of technology advancements, I’ll help you plan so you don’t get left behind.
This is a blend of consulting, async support, and custom training.
It’s not “done-for-you” templates, it’s tailored guidance, video walkthroughs, and a smart/clear digital roadmap for your company.
Let me bring my 20+ years in the trenches of CAD Management, Training, and Design Expertise, along with mastery in productivity, AI, and digital workflows to work for you now!
Right now I’m opening up just a few early slots to find firms who need it most while I build and refine my new agency publicly.
